Centerplate is looking to hire a Culinary Purchaser/Warehouse Supervisor for our operations at T-Mobile Park, home of Major League Baseball’s Seattle Mariners.



Knowledge of specialized food products is a must; Culinary background preferred.



Job Responsibilities:



Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders; verifies receipt of items; authorizes payment. Conducts routine maintenance on equipment. Work closely with the Executive Chef, and Sous Chefs. Report to the Head of Purchasing and Warehouse Manager.



Job Duties:




  • Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.

  • Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery pick up, returns, and exchanges.

  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from culinary department.

  • Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.

  • Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers. Communicate outages or shortages with the executive and sous chefs.

  • Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.

  • Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

  • Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

  • Monitor quality of products upon receipt and ensure with compliance with established standards for sanitation.

  • Ensure that all food products are stored, held, and transported under proper conditions as per sanitation standards.

  • Utilize inventory control systems, both manual and automated.

  • Continually monitor and sure proper stock rotation.

  • Supervise warehouse and clerical data entry staff; Ensure accuracy in transmitting documentation to the corporate office.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

  • Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

  • Maintains and updates order guides and supplier information.

  • Occasionally, drive off-site to procure product that was shorted or specialty orders



Skills and Qualifications:



Supply Management, Vendor Relationships, Organization, Customer Service, Documentation Skills, Supply Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Cost Accounting, Supervision of Warehouse Personnel, Have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.



Job Qualifications/Skills




  • High School Diploma and/or appropriate combination of education and experience to support on-the-job effectiveness

  • A minimum of 2 years of purchasing and/or warehouse experience within a food and beverage operations environment, to include supervision of a staff and focus on exceptional client and customer service.

  • Venue catering/concessions experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and general workplace safety standards with knowledge of Health Department regulations. Must have or be willing to get a Washington State Food Handlers’ Permit.

  • Demonstrated financial acumen; P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is highly desirable.

  • Technologically savvy, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.

  • Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks.

  • Flexibility, ability to work extended or irregular hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.



Additional Requirements:




  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to work in extremes of cold and heat.
