Job Description

Position Summary: Performs adult ultrasound diagnostic procedures by imaging, assessing and evaluating images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis. Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology from a CAAHEP program or Health Science Program American Heart Association BLS Current Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required within I year of hire 6 months clinical training in cardiac ultrasound or comparable experience Preferred: 2 years' experience in post-graduation cardiac ultrasound Preferred: American Heart Association ACLS Essential Job Functions: Performs complete adult two-dimensional echos (real-time images, M-mode, pulsed wave, continuous wave and color Doppler). Performs adult stress echo, pharmacological stress echo, TEE, contrast agent, ETT. Completes documentation of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving and retrieval of exams. Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper scheduling, distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures that adhere to ICAEL standards. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times. Ability to work varied shifts in a busy and stressful environment. Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality. Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.Work Schedule Work arrangements may be one of the following: Hospital Priority (one week of work/call followed by one week off) OR Clinic Priority (Monday through Friday 8am 5pm, with no call)".
