The Role and Responsibilities
has an experienced State Tax Senior Manager - Hybrid position available at its corporate headquarters located in Wilmington, DE. This position is a key role within the tax organization that will have the opportunity to manage the state tax operations of the Company and provide technical oversight and guidance on state tax matters impacting the Company.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Partner across the Corporate Tax function and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance, minimize risk and support business goals and objectives
Pro-actively identify and lead state tax planning projects
Manage state and local controversy
Provide technical support on state tax positions impacting compliance and provision
Provide tax advice on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and corporate restructuring
Partner with the businesses to assess state tax implications of new initiatives and business changes
Monitor the impact of state and local legislation
Support senior Tax management in tax department initiatives, including training/development programs and process improvement projects
Your Qualification Profile:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or JD required
Masters in Taxation or L.L.M. is preferred
10+ years of relevant tax experience in a Big 4/regional accounting firm and/or corporate tax department with an emphasis on state and local taxes
Knowledge of applicable state and local tax laws and regulations
Highly efficient, organized, reliable, and resourceful professional with practical experience and ability to understand process and implement change
Ability to perform complex tax research and analysis and effectively communicate results in the form of discussion, presentation, or technical memorandum
