COO/CFO

Supernode Global provides community and capital to seed stage digital content startups that are shaping the future of entertainment, education, work and communication, across gaming, video, audio and AR/VR.

We have a diverse team that come from a mix of entrepreneurial, operational and investment backgrounds. Our aim as investors is simple - find the most promising startups and do whatever we can to support their growth. We have made introductions to critical customers and partners, overseen hiring processes, run PR outreach, introduced key investors, executed re-brands, found advisors and much more for our companies.

We are also building the pre-eminent global community for high potential, early-stage digital content startups, where we focus on facilitating relevant connections that can support their growth. There are over 300 early-stage startups in our community, and 100 industry executives and mentors in our support network, across 40 countries. Every quarter, we proactively make 50 introductions to subject matter experts, potential partners and customers for our founder members. We also provide a platform for peer to peer knowledge sharing and host educational and networking events for members.

Fund I ( 28m) is a top decile performing fund, and we expect to close Fund II ($65m) next year.

Tasks

Investments

• Help structure and execute deals so that they are compliant, tax efficient and with minimal FX exposure.
• Liaise with fund admin to manage capital calls, wire transfers and distributions.
• Spin up and manage Special Purpose Vehicles for co-investments.

LP Onboarding/Management

• Work with our Partners to onboard investors into our funds.
• Manage all aspects of investor reporting in tandem with our Managing Partner.
• Keep all relevant documents in the data room up to date.

Portfolio Management

• Implement systems for tracking portfolio company KPIs, financial performance and projections.
• Build and maintain fund projections for follow-on financing so that we know when we expect our companies to be raising, and can plan accordingly.
• Responsible for all aspects of portfolio construction and modelling including:
• Number of investments, cheque sizes, target returns, management fees, recycling etc.
• Track portfolio company valuations, in accordance with Supernode s Valuation Policy.

Firm Legals & Compliance

• Work with our lawyers on all legal matters relating to fund formation.
• Lead on all aspects of regulation and compliance.
• Manage all aspects of reporting to tax authorities and other stakeholders.

Finance

• Manage the relationship with our service providers on all aspects of business including:
• Management Accounts.
• Year End Accounts.
• Tax Returns.
• Payroll.
• Yearly Audit.
• Manage firm FX and tax exposure.
• Draw up budgets and forecasts.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience working back office functions (finance, admin, ops, legal) across PE or VC.
• Proven experience of having built strong models, systems and processes at previous firms.
• Experience working across geographies including Europe and the US.
• A deep understanding of the VC ecosystem, and an excitement about working with early stage startups - including the uncertainty and rapid changes that comes with it.
• Need to be able to solve problems quickly, with little direction and in unconventional ways.
• Must be an analytical thinker, who is able to quickly sort through and organise portfolio company and fund data so that clear decisions can be made.
• Must show excellent communication and organisational skills - given the breadth of the role, there will be many different stakeholders that the candidate will need to constantly be communicating with and updating.

• Knowledge of crypto/Web3 is an advantage.
