ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

The Technology Sector and delivering Embedded Banking to our clients is a strategic focus of our client and one in which the bank is actively investing and growing. This role is critical to this strategy. The Senior Payments Advisor is responsible for executing a sales and marketing strategy that achieves market penetration and new client acquisition goals derived from companies in the Technology Sector. A primary responsibility is to partner with our Technology Group Bankers to pursue partnerships and deep relationships with private equity and venture capital firms in order to be able to provide meaningful payments solutions to their portfolio companies. The Senior Payments Advisor will be joining a high-peforming, dynamic team and will coordinate closely with our Payments Product Team to bring the voice-of-the-client to the group and help inform the development of the product road map.

This position is located in San Francisco, California. The role requires close collaboration with our Technology Group Bankers and is "mobile by design", which enables the person to balance work-from-anywhere and in-person collaboration with our internal partners.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provide embedded banking, payments and treasury management expertise and solutions specific to Technology Sector companies
  • Develop and execute a sales and marketing strategy that achieves market penetration, existing client growth and new client acquisition goals by delivering products and services based on identified value proposition
  • Proven ability to identify, solution and close new business opportunities sourced from internally generated leads in partnership with client Capital Markets Bankers and Payments Product Partners, as well as, an ability to self-generate leads through personal business network, conferences and other sources
  • Proactively pursue partnerships with private equity and venture capital companies to develop deep relationships and bring value driven embedded banking and payments solutions to their portfolio companies.
  • Actively manage the existing portfolio of clients seeking ways to maintain and grow their relationships with client through consultative and strategic solutioning
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the technology and payments industries to be able to deliver expertise to clients and prospects and to be able to identify business opportunities both inside and outside of payments and make effective referrals to the appropriate business segment
  • Understand macro business concepts and working capital management and leverage this to bring effective solutions to clients enabling them to run their businesses better every day
  • Independently collaborate with internal and external partners to expand and retain payments and embedded banking business clients
  • Actively represent Enterprise Payments to the leadership and bankers in the Technology Group by developing and fostering deep partnerships, completing relationship reviews and coordinating client acquisition activities to ensure goals are achieved
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with client managers to coordinate servicing of clients, identification of new opportunities and create an all-around outstanding client experience. Act as a mentor and coach to our client management team
  • Partner with the product and implementation teams to keep them informed of the voice-of-the-client to assist with the development of a product road map that meets the needs and delivers a value proposition that companies are seeking, especially those in the Technology Sector.
  • For more complex client implementations, work with the Implementation Specialist to oversee that the new product set-up is completed properly and in a timely manner. Confirm that clients receive the technical support and training on product usage and functionality thus ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Represent the organization at various industry conferences, national and regional events, business meetings, market functions, and centers of influence both internally and externally
  • Ability and willingness to travel for in-person client, internal and industry meetings and events
  • Other duties and responsibilities as established, assigned, and communicated by the business leader

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or similar work experience with
  • 5 or more years of payments, banking or treasury management, experience
  • with a preference for experience in the FinTech space
  • Demonstrated success in a business development role and customer service environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience presenting to clients
  • Ability to negotiate and influence while leveraging and maintaining good personal relationships
  • Self-motivated and ability to participate effectively in a highly collaborative work team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and handle conflicting situations
  • Possess strong independent analytical and data mining skills Detail oriented and ability to follow through

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
  • Demonstrated understanding of working capital, payments and macro business concepts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in financial technology and embedded banking is a strong preference
  • Previous work with technology companies specifically delivering payments solutions Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
