JobSummary:

TheWelderwillweld,cut,andbrazemetalpiecesandproductsbyusingflame-cuttingandhandwelding

equipmentperblueprintspecificationsandaccordingtothefabricationproductionnumberssetbythe

FabricationManagerandPlantManager.

SupervisoryResponsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Plansdetailsofworkorderprocedures;gathersrequiredtoolsandmaterialsbasedoninstructions

andspecificationsprovidedforthejob.

Repairsandfabricatesvariousitemsandequipmentusingcutting,burning,andwelding

techniquesandequipmentpercustomerspecificationsandatapacesetbymanagement.

Monitorsthewelding,burning,andfittingprocesstoensurepartsarenotoverheatedordamaged

bywarping,distortion,expansion,orshrinkage.

Prepares,assembles,andtacksweldpartsandsurfacestobewelded.

Meetsorexceedsthenumberofuprightsandbeamsperday,setbymanagement.

Maintains,organizes,andcleansequipmentandtheworkarea.

Notifiessupervisorwhenfaultyequipmentordefectivematerialsarediscovered.

Performsotherrelateddutiesasassigned.

RequiredSkills/Abilities:

Thoroughunderstandingofmachinesandtoolsusedinweldingincludingdesigns,uses,

maintenanceandrepair.

Basicmathskillsrequired

Abilitytoreadanduseatapemeasure.

Abilitytomeetorexceedproductionnumberssetbymanagement

Basicunderstandingofdesigntechniques,principles,andtoolsnecessaryfortheprecise

productionoftechnicalplans,drawings,models,andblueprints.

Excellentabilitytoreadandlistentoassignmentsgiveninavarietyofforms.

Basicunderstandingofmathematicsasrelatedtoweldingassignments.

Requirements

EducationandExperience:

CompletionofaformalapprenticeshipORsuccessfulcompletionofanin-company,three-year

trainingprogramrequired.

PhysicalRequirements:

Mustbeabletoweldcomponentsthatarevertical,flat,oroverhead.

Musthaveenoughmanualdexterityandstabilityasrequiredforprecisionwork.

Mustbeabletoseedetailsatcloserange.

Abletoworkinanopen-airwarehouse

Mustbeabletoliftto15poundsattimes.

Education and Experience: Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program required. Physical Requirements: Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead. Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Able to work in an open-air warehouse Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
