Job Description

Purpose of the Job Based in Gauteng,
an industrial glass processing company seeks to appoint a national operations manager with relevant technical / business qualifications. A dynamic individual with an Industrial engineering background within the manufacturing arena. Knowledge and understanding of electrical systems advantageous. Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in operations type role with a strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain principles including efficiency improvements and lean techniques. From budgeting to effective project delivery, the manager is responsible for planning, directing and co-coordinating the efforts of Production, Logistics, Purchasing, and Technical Support toward the accomplishment of the company objectives. Vigilant to constantly improve the organisations competitive position (Including Safety., Quality, Delivery and Cost) in all markets and regions nationally.

Job Overview
Oversee and manage the Manufacturing and Supply chain departments and function for the client. - Plan, direct and co-ordinate the efforts of the production, logistics, Purchasing & Technical support towards the accomplishment of the company objectives. - Maintain and constantly strive to improve the organisations competitive position (Including Safety., Quality, Delivery and Cost) in all markets served by the client.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Technical / business qualifications, together with necessary technical aptitude.
- Industrial engineering background with electrical understanding advantageous
- Relevant manufacturing and logistical industry experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in operations type role
- In-depth knowledge of key manufacturing techniques and concepts.
- Ability to think laterally, develop and implement effective strategies
- Demonstrated capability to execute strategy in complex, shifting environments
- Excellent organizational development and management skills (proven), including process design and supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of Companies act, OHS act, labour legislation etc.)
- Financial knowledge and related skills for effective operations management
- Ability to deal with multiple scenarios simultaneously
- Proven track record (i.e., results driven)
- Willingness and ability to travel as required

Key Tasks and Responsibilities Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Leadership & Strategy
Participate in setting companys short-, medium-, and long-term strategies and objectives.
Align operational objectives with business requirements and ensure all branches are fully informed and engaged.
Facilitate alignment and cooperation with all other business units and support groups (Finance, IT, HR, Marketing)
Measure and report on key operating metrics and results. - Objectives and Activities
Lead the operational efforts to the highest standards of performance and results with regards too continuous improvement growth and expansion.
Set operational and / or performance goals for each branch which are achievable and tied to long-term group goals.
Co-ordinate, align and control the various functions to develop supporting processes for company objectives to be achieved.
Ensure operational costs remain within financial budget.
Ensure Technical/ Quality/ Production and Maintenance Management programs are in alignment with best practices.
Implement and measure Continuous Improvement Practices to ensure alignment with Industry standards.
Identify key operational performance measures and ensure that the division can monitor key metrics at the branches and group levels.
Implement business controls and sign off within limits of authority.
Identify customer needs with respect to products, quality, and services. Liaise with other departments to ensure that we consistently exceed customers needs
Responsible for effective management, maintenance, housekeeping, and security of all Glass Partners facilities.
Actively implement best practices that drive SHEQ requirements and implement policies and processes to support this objective
Ensure effective co-ordination and control with processes for forecasting, inventory
management, customer service levels and overall logistics support to Glass Partners branches.
Ensure effective supply chain management, procurement practices, freight terms and conditions, duties, customs declaration, and related controls in adherence to legal parameters.
