Job Description

Working in a flexible work style, you will be working under the direction of the Manager Group Sales and Business Development North. The Senior Group Sales Representative will be responsible for the Grande Prairie and Northwestern Alberta region, promoting and marketing Alberta Blue Cross to various communities and business organizations. You will be responsible for creation of new business while managing an existing book of business and ensuring that the business that is negotiated is financially viable, administratively feasible and creates a positive customer experience. Preference will be given to those candidates that reside in the Grande Prairie and Northwestern Alberta region, but consideration will be given to those who reside in the Edmonton area, however there will an expectation to travel when required.

Requirements

  • Ability to create a level of trust, which include company values and behaviors with all advisors, clients and prospects.
  • Review of specifications from benefit advisors and plan sponsors ensuring the information is complete, comprehensive and meets the company s underwriting and administration requirements.
  • Complete and present proposals and quotations to benefit advisors and plan sponsors.
  • Timely follow-up to determine competitiveness in the group insurance market.
  • Enroll and facilitate installations of new group clients and ensure the customer is familiarized with Alberta Blue Cross administrative and claiming processes.
  • Work with the customer service representative to ensure an effective, high level of scheduled service to all corporate accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a corporate account sales tracking and prospect file.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with assigned benefits advisors.
  • Cooperate with all staff to ensure that overall plan objectives are achieved.
  • Provide input to project planning, scheduling, status reporting, and project budgets.
  • Participate in project related activities with cross functional groups.
  • Prepare regular business development status updates for management.
  • Attend group meetings, trade shows and conferences when appropriate and/or necessary.
  • Assist management in advertising and marketing campaigns.
