About Our Client
Our client, one of BC’s most respected developers, has an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual to join their construction team. Over the past 50 years,they have built thousands of homes and has earned a reputation for developing exceptional residential communities throughout the Lower Mainland.
The Construction Safety Officer is an integral part of the site management team. This individual will work closely with the Site Superintendents to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel and third parties.
Responsibilities include:
- Administer safety compliance with OHS requirements
- Administer First Aid to site personnel
- Promote a culture of company health and safety policies and procedures
- Coordinate with WorkSafe BC regarding site specific injury management
- Raising health and safety awareness and reporting on key issues, minimize safety risks
- Attend, participate, facilitate safety meetings
- Experience in concrete high-rise towers
- Perform daily site inspections
- Identify hazardous areas
- Erect and maintain temporary handrails/guard rails
- Provide new worker orientations
- Ticket for operating machinery such as bobcat/telehandler would be an asset
- Other duties as required
Requirements include:
- A minimum of three year’s relevant experience in a site/field safety role
- Valid Construction First Aid Level 2
- Excellent communication, organization skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of the construction process
- Valid Construction Safety Officer Certification
- Maintain site safety documentation
- Issue non-compliance notification to trades
- Full time position with extended hours including Saturdays as required
