Dietary Aides will work to help prepare, portion, and deliver food for residents of long-term care homes. As a Dietary Aide you will also keep food preparation and dining areas organized, clean, and sanitized.

Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and sanitizing of dishes and dining area
- Set and cleanup tables in dining room
- Portioning and plating of menu items during meal service for residents
- Ensure food is being handled following the Safe Food Handling practices
- Complete and document food temperatures, storage temperatures, cleaning lists and any other lists from management
- To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
- Participate in menu planning
- Receiving, storing, and managing the inventory of resident food and food service supplies
Requirements
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
- Food Handlers Certificate (required)
- Food Service Worker Certificate (required)
- Strong customer service skills and time management
- Able to read and interpret recipes
- Experience in sanitation and food safety procedures
- Experience using kitchen equipment is an asset
- Experience working in LTC an asset
- Ability to work in a team and individually
- Knowledge of specialized diets an asset
- Interest in working with the elderly population and food service operations in LTC would be an asset
