Responsibilities
- Ensure total compliance of Federal and State programs governing areas of responsibility
- Ensure the safety and environmental management system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained
- Complete, record, and maintain employee training and guidance in the areas of safety and environmental policies
- Interact with outside governing entities such as OSHA, DNR, Worker s Compensation, DILHR, etc.
- Maintain training and inventory of safety and first aid equipment
- Oversee all aspects of contingency and emergency plans within the facility
- Maintain files on worker s compensation, safety inspections, and other related material
- Coordinate safety committee guidelines and all safety incentive programs
- Perform other related functions as directed by need and by the Plant Manager, allowing flexibility, job change, and growth of the employee and the department
- Attend and report daily activity at daily war room meeting
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Industrial Safety or equivalent level of education in related responsibilities required
- Minimum of two years direct, hands-on safety and environmental related experience
- Knowledge in personnel relations and personnel law
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively coach, lead, motivate, and develop people
