Job Description

Basic requirement
This position will support IT Operations in their mission to achieve secure, agile and reliable operations through operating and embedding of standard IT Risk Management processes. This also includes implementation of any process and/or tooling changes, operational optimization, and active monitoring and interventions to improve the Key Performance Indicators focused on IT Risk and Service Continuity Management.
The Risk process Advisor will drive IT Operate teams and leadership from a global perspective to help Operate teams to identify, document and remediate IT Operational Risks, but also by way of a Risk control frameworks that fully leverage the skills, capabilities and resources across the organization to ensure that IT Risk exposure is minimized.

Requirements

Accountabilities
  • Oversees the effective execution and operationalize of the Operations Risk Register.
  • Contributes to the development of the Operations Risk Register roadmap and maturity model.
  • Responsible for standard operating procedures for Operations Risk Register.
  • Works closely with problem management team and systemic issues teams to ensure identified risks are appropriately captured.
  • Responsible for management of the Operations Risk Register and relevant reporting.
  • Translates Operations Risk Register data into presentations that tell a story with pictures vs lots of words.
  • Ensures Operations Risk Register integrity by considering interfacing processes (inputs & outputs).
  • Drives continuous improvements within the Operations Risk Register.
  • Drives Operations Risk Register focal points and community through deliverables associated with the roadmap and maturity model.
  • Provides guidance and direction to regional and global teams on Operations Risk Register usage thru activities including education and coaching as well as raising awareness of the importance of the Operations Risk Register across the organization.
Dimensions and Special Challenges
  • Individual Contributor role with visibility across ITSO.
  • Reports into the Enterprise Recovery & Service Continuity Manager in the LOI organization.
  • A very visible enterprise wide role with the requirement to work in collaboration with people from all parts of the businesses, with multiple suppliers and to gain insight into the challenges faced by a variety of lines of businesses.
  • As the IT Risk management process is not widely used or operated in the customer landscape this role has the chance to shape how Risk Management is to be operated.
  • Working in a Virtual team across multiple time zones may require availability during early morning and/or late evening hours. Managing time and work-life balance is critical.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written using different mediums.
  • Skilled in being able to build credible, sustainable relationships with staff, business leaders and suppliers.
  • Skilled in being able to influence others without formal authority to deliver desired results.
  • A readiness to take technical responsibility and accountability for work performed and decisions taken.
  • Fluent in the English language both verbal and written.
  • Experience in using automation tools and techniques to build improvements and efficiencies in existing operational ways of working.
  • Experience in working on continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as LEAN, Six Sigma as well as Kepner Tregoe methodology for Decision Analysis, Problem Analysis.
MandatoryQualifications and Skills
  • Typical Years of Experience: 4 to 7 years of experience of corporate IT experience.
ITIL certifications at both the foundation and intermediate level, preferably in:
  1. Service Design or Service Operation.
  2. Skilled in executing and managing operational ITIL processes specifically IT Risk management and/or Service Continuity Management across large infrastructure and application environments.
  • Skilled in data analysis and identifying trends / patterns to address causes of issues.
  • Skilled in effective problem solving.
  • Technical Skilled in using Service Management tools, Microsoft Office Excel (tables, charts, pivot tables) & PowerPoint and reporting tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills using different mediums.
  • Skilled in negotiated win-win solutions with stakeholder.
  • Skilled in being able to influence others without formal authority to deliver desired results.
  • Skilled in being able to work independently across different organizational boundaries, cultures and in a globally and virtual environment.
  • Fluent in the English language both verbal and written.
  • Open to rotating between Shifts periodically.
Preferred
  • Skilled in executing and managing operational ITIL processes specifically IT Service Continuity and Incident Management across large infrastructure and application environments.
  • Certifications in LEAN would be advantageous.
  • Skills in Excel reporting, VBA and Business Objects.
