Job Description

Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking ERP Business Analyst with a passion for growth and business transformation. Duties and Responsibilities:


The Consultant will support the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) PALM System Transition (FPST) Program is the Department s multi-year effort to transform financial related business processes to enable the adoption of the Florida PALM Standardized Business Process Models, transition to the Florida PALM Chart of Accounts, and modify existing computing assets to complete the FDOT transition to the Florida PALM PeopleSoft solution. The FPST Program will also ensure that over 1,000 Florida PALM-impacted computing assets are successfully transitioned from legacy Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) interfaces to modernized Florida PALM interfaces. The Florida PALM-impacted computing assets are vital to the daily financial operations of the department in the development and delivery of the approximately $50 billion of future commitments for the Five-Year Work Program. Duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Applying administrative, consultative, and technical expertise in fulfillment of the project s assigned work steams.
  • Assist the Budget, Accounting, and Financial Statement Reporting Product Owners in the developing and executing of business process transformation activities.
  • Facilitate process mapping meetings and assisting with artifact creation to document alignment with Florida PALM Standardized Business Process Models and internal control interface touch points.
  • Planning, organizing, executing, and controlling assigned project tasks in successful delivery of work products and/or readiness workplan milestones.
  • Interfacing with team members on a day-to-day basis to ensure timely delivery of project tasks and milestones.
  • Applying a broad set of management skills and technical expertise in supporting system migration efforts
  • Providing configuration and migration solutions through analysis.
  • Organizing, directing, and managing support services
  • Providing knowledge transfer approaches for configuration and migration to the Florida PALM solution.
  • Work closely with customers to understand business requirements and translate to the appropriate technical solutions to implement a solution to end-users
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary
  • Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision
  • Work with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTMs)
  • Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted
  • Perform QA testing of new features to ensure that requirements are met, and the resulting user experience is as intended
  • Participate in and support user acceptance testing and the deployment of the solution to production
  • Create data mapping and reconciliation sheets to support data conversion and testing
  • Validate data accuracy and builds reconciliation processes, as needed
  • Design and deliver end-user training and training materials


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in duties associated with the Consultant positions.
  • Experience in understanding technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise s competitive edge
    Experience in verbal and written communications to convey progress and results of analysis
  • Skilled in the use of ERP business solutions and configuration of multiple ERP modules, such as Oracle PeopleSoft s financial management software.
  • Knowledge of ERP financial related modules and interfacing methodologies.
  • Experience working on accounting and financial computing applications and monitoring complex interfaces with external systems.
  • Expertise in information technology consulting with experience in planning, evaluations and/or executing and monitoring large budget management, accounting, and financial statement reporting applications.
  • Experience managing enterprise level projects.
  • Advance skills in the transformation of as-is business processes and revision of established data management procedures.
  • Experience with systems alignment, consolidation, and remediation of legacy computing assets.
  • Implementation of an ERP budget management, accounting, and financial statement reporting solution for a subordinate agency and interfacing to a statewide accounting and financial reporting system.
  • Experience conducting studies, analyses, and creating work products and reports relating to Agency business programs or initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in gap analysis and solution design for Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Workflows and Forms is a must
  • Excellent communication & Client Facing skills
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to translate business issues into technology solutions and vice versa
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology project risks and strategies for managing and mitigating them
  • Experience with PMO support for status reporting, deliverable management, quality assurance and risk/issue management


Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field.

  • None required

  • US Citizenship preferred. Must be a Green Card holder at minimum.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a Level II background check including fingerprinting.
  • All work is performed on-site in Tallahassee, FL.
