Overview:
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of a team building, managing, and securing a container platform that meets clients' needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage container management software to solve some of our toughest challenges
- Use the latest cloud technologies to improve clients' environments with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration
- Build secure cloud infrastructures using the latest networking, virtualization, automation, and configuration management tools
- Automate configuration and hardening of containers
- Develop documentation, plans and SOP for containerization
- Provide recommendations on best practices, application modernization, and adapting to a constantly changing environment.
- Deploy enterprise applications in cloud platforms, incorporating automation, security, and reliability
- AWS provisioning, configuration management, storage management, network management, virtualization
- Create automated CI/CD pipelines and automating all aspects of infrastructure
- Develop automation to support service deployment and ease use and mgmt. of containerized images
Qualifications:
Required:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, or Science and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience including:
- 2+ years of experience with container tools, including kubectl, Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher (RKE2)
- 2+ years of experience with automation tools, including Terraform or Ansible
- 2+ years of experience with Helm Charts (Helm), Kustomize and/or updating K8s manifests
- Experience with GitOps Practices and Tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code environments, including activities around the automated server or network configurations, software deployments, or monitoring and testing
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is preferred)
- A working understanding of code and script (YAML, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Experience with building DotNet and Linux containers
- Experience with Linux administration
- Demonstrated experience with DevSecOps framework - Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery
- Ability to employ best practices in an enterprise scale continuous delivery environment and harden production deployments
- The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance
Preferred:
- Demonstrated Agile (scrum) Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Kubernetes hardening or cybersecurity best practices
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Administrator Developer (CKAD)
- AWS Associate level certification
- Knowledgeable about current customer off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies
