Data Center Consultant (Day 1 onsite)

Role: Data Center Consultant

Location: Cary, NC, Day 1 onsite

Duration: 6+ months

Description:

Managing Data Center and provide onsite support to DC Admins for Priority and maintenance issues.

Candidate should have minimum 3-5 year experience in above mentioned area.

• Assign switch ports to specific VLANs
• Patch phone ports to switch as needed
• Perform packet traffic analysis for troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot issues with fiber links between switches
• Troubleshoot and replace chassis blades when required
• Assist Biogen Network admins as required
• A periodic (minimum twice weekly) visual check of the IDF rooms for cooling and power status (specifically UPS alarms and PDU health)
• Control-M, Netbackup, Tivoli Work Scheduler
• HP OVO, Netcool, MOM
• Batch monitoring and Job scheduling
• Server Performance monitoring
• Networking and Operating System basics

• Knowledge of HP-Open View as Monitoring Tool
• Basic knowledge of problem management tools like Remedy
• Basic knowledge TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) as Backup tool
• Basic knowledge about Hardware like Servers, Storage devices
• Basic knowledge of Operating Systems- Windows 2003 servers Enterprise/Standard Edition.
• Basic knowledge about Windows 2003 Active Directory structure, MS Exchange 2003 and File/Print Server
• Experience in SLA base environment
• Experience in jobs scheduling and backup management.
