Job Description

Alteos was founded in Berlin in 2018 and has since developed into one of the leading and, above all, most innovative providers in the field of embedded insurance, exclusively through sales partnerships. Our solutions are designed to give retailers and manufacturers of consumer foods an opportunity to enrich their own offerings with innovative insurance solutions. For example, we are the inventors of GPS bike insurance. This makes us the first provider on the market to actively use the "Internet of Things" to track down valuable e-bikes after they have been stolen.

However, all of our solutions are only good as the people who develop them and make them tangible. So if you are interested in exciting challenges and fascinating, complex tasks, you will meet some of the smartest and most motivated talents in the industry at Alteos.

To support our international, diverse team in our further growth, we are looking for reinforcement in all areas, including a Head of Financial Operations.

Tasks

  • Leading the financial operations ensuring their deadlines and quality standards (controlling)
  • Leading, mentoring and training the operational team, offering them guidance and helping them improve their skills.
  • Scaling the financial processes to support organisational growth
  • Supporting the Director of Finance with budgeting and internal reporting and participation in ongoing monthly reporting to AXA and in the annual financial statements
  • Oversee the optimisations and automation of our processes
  • Project work in cross-functional teams
  • Hands-on responsibilities around financial operations

Requirements

  • You have completed commercial training or economics studies or a comparable qualification
  • Good knowledge and a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and external accounting
  • You have 5+ years experience in leading and developing team members
  • Sound knowledge of German accounting and German market accounting principles
  • Strong and confident stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Result-orientated, proactive and independent work is just as natural for you as a sense of responsibility
  • You impress with a communicative, open and confident demeanour with good manners and you enjoy working in a team
  • You are very well-organised and have a great love of detail
  • Some experience in automating processes would be a nice addition
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as insurance or banking would also be nice to have

Strong proficiency in spoken and written German is required.

Benefits

What do we offer?

Together with our investor, AXA, we offer a combination of entrepreneurial freedom, leading technological know-how, reliability and extensive experience in the conception and management of insurance solutions that is rather unusual for the insurance industry.

When you become part of our team, you can expect to work with incredibly versatile and talented colleagues. For many of us, this is a great motivation and we hope that you will too. We also offer you:

  • The chance in this role to lead and grow an exciting team
  • The opportunity to help shape the future of the industry and to break new, innovative ground
  • Personal development at the interface between insurance and the latest technologies
  • Entrepreneurial work, far away from corporate bureaucracy and silo thinking
  • A corporate culture built on diversity, performance, trust, transparency, information sharing, cross-functional working, very flat hierarchies, learning from mistakes and individual entrepreneurship
  • A fair and attractive concept for regularly increasing your salary every 9-18 months in recognition of your achievements and commitment
  • Flexible, trust-based working hours and regulations for working from home as well as 27-30 days annual vacation (depending on seniority)
  • Various amenities, from our legendary company events to yoga courses and further training to meal allowances and discounts on the VBB environmental card.

Would you like to become a part of our team?

Then send us your CV, stating your earliest possible starting date and your salary expectations.
