Information Technology - Engineer Network 2

Job Description: Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to fill an experienced Network Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This position is located in Fairfax, VA.

This position will assist in the implementation, administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of a diverse Ground Enterprise supporting multiple facilities. This individual is required to possess intermediate technical skill sets in many aspects of WAN/LAN concepts and technologies when dealing with network hardware and the interconnects associated with routers, firewalls and switches. An intermediate understanding of dynamic routing protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) are a plus. This candidate with have a very good understanding of firewall implementation processes and concepts, and the management of these devices. Candidates need to be able to implement Access Control Lists (ACL) via the Command Line Interface (CLI).

Candidates are required to be Security+ certified and willing to voluntarily submit to a polygraph if required after employment. Candidates must have the ability to work within a group or independently where collaboration and attention to detail is critical to mission success.

Travel to both CONUS and OCONUS locations is required (25%). Occasional 24x7 shift support required.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 0+ years; 9+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree requirement.
- Active TS/SCI or TS with SCI eligibility, and willingness to sit for a polygraph
- Layer 1 implementation
- Layer 2 configuration, administration, maintenance
- Configuration, administration, maintenance of various network protocols
- Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
- Open Shortest path First (OSPF)
- Border gateway protocol (BGP)
- Firewall configuration, administration and management
- Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP)
- Cisco NEXUS virtualization
- Configuration, administration, maintenance of SolarWinds software
- Entry skill sets of Network Topology diagrams (Primary product is Visio, and utilizing Teamcenter for documentation delivery)
- Security+ Certification
- Travel up to 25% (both CONUS and OCONUS)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Call Manager experience
