Job Description
Our client, one of the largest global providers of logistics in the beverage sector, consumer goods, clothing, machinery, and petroleum products, has an immediate opening for Air Import Manager with experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry in their Jamaica NY office.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare, execute, monitor, and update at regular intervals the business plan for the department
- Monitor and improve key departmental productivity indicators including but not limited to Shipments Per Desk (SPD), Revenue Per Shipment (RPS), Revenue to Expense ratio and Excel measurements
- Always instill and foster a climate of compliance to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer policies/requirements.
- Map and understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency to offer customers better cycle times and service as well as controlling costs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, and others).
- Work to be our clients lowest cost through electronic booking, shipper-built units, and other creative local market solutions to lower overall cost for both parties.
- Evaluate vendors at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on areas of possible.
- improvement with corrective action plans where needed.
- 2-5 years of management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) Internet and media research
- Acute attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
- Decisive and able to make decisions at critical times and whilst under pressure.
