Solar CAD Designer

This position will be accountable for CAD design and documentation of solar projects in Radiance Solar s Operations department. The designer creates plan sets for all phases of construction including, but not limited to, permitting, construction, and as-builts. The designer also creates and delivers preliminary layouts and production analysis to the sales team and facilitates any changes based on the project needs. In addition, the designer communicates and coordinates with multiple engineering firms to produce stamped plan sets and studies.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate PV layout sizing design for ground-mount and roof-top projects
• Estimate kWh production simulations using provided tools
• Must communicate well with all internal and external agents
• Design, document, and develop PV systems in AutoCAD for and with stakeholders, adhering to grid compliance and permitting requirements:
  • Preliminary Layouts
  • Permit Ready Plan Sets
  • Construction Plan Sets
  • As-built Plan Sets
  • PVsyst Reports

Requirements

• Highly proficient in AutoCAD software. Revit experience is a plus
• Solar PV experience preferred
• In depth knowledge of drafting, CAD, layers, and model space/paper space management
• Well-versed in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
• Basic math skills (Algebra, while Trigonometry and Calculus would be useful)
• Ability to interact, communicate, and present ideas
• Professionalism regarding scheduling, time, costs, and deadlines
