Job Summary of Controls Development Engineer
Our client, a cutting-edge developer of electric vehicle technology, is looking for a Controls Development Engineer to join their growing team. In this position, you will take projects through the entire development life cycle, including requirements development, modeling/simulation of controls, integration, validation, and release. Youll work on resolving difficult issues with a a cross-disciplinary team, as you bring brand new automotive technology to the market. Given this, youll also have the opportunity to make strategic decisions about the direction of future development.

Youll be asked to bring all your controls development knowledge to the table, and you cant be afraid to get into areas youve not worked in before. Requirements
- BSEE (MSEE preferred, or similar engineering discipline) with 4+ years of industry experience.
- Strong background in automove controls development (OEM or Tier 1), using Matlab and Simulink (or other model-based programming methodologies).
- Proficient in one more more relevant programming languages (such as embedded C or Python)
- Knowledge of CAN, LIN and Ethernet protocolsProblem solving experience where issues are unusual and difficult
- Previous OEM and Tier-1 automotive experience preferred
- Experience in hybrid or electric vehicle (EV) is preferred, but could also consider other advanced vehicle technologies
- Previous assembly plant launch experience preferred
- PPAP experience developing and creating Design records, FMEA s, Control Plans, etc.
- Practical experience with test case development, both manual bench testing and automated (HiL) systems
- Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO-26262)
- High level of oral and written communication skills
