Legal Assistant
Job Summary:
Performs a variety of secretarial duties, including transcription, typing, revising and proofreading correspondence, entering attorney time, answering telephones, sorting mail, coordinating travel arrangements, maintaining files, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will possess excellent legal secretarial skills, including strong organizational, technical and typing (70 w.p.m.) skills. Candidates should have skills in general office procedures and filing techniques, along with an enthusiastic team player attitude and a high work ethic. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and LMS are preferred. Applicants with five or more years of legal secretarial experience working in litigation are preferred.
Education and Experience:
Education equivalent to the completion of grade 12. A minimum of five years of legal secretarial experience preferred.
