Our client is a fast paced, solid and successful, manufacturer of a broad range of epoxy, polyurethane and acrylic emulsion adhesives and coatings.
They need a R&D Chemist to focus on the technical development of innovative solutions to meet the challenging needs of internal and external customers.
Their operation is typically blending, with few reaction processes, using a wide variety of state of the art mixing vessels in a modern facility. Our client is an ISO 9001-controlled environment and is compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- The R&D Chemist is expected to make scientific contributions to research programs of major importance to the Research and Manufacturing Team. This position is largely hands-on with process development scale-up work spanning the range from laboratory scale to commercial manufacturing scale. Collaboration with quality, purchasing, operations and marketing is required. The development of new products and adaptions of current products requires direct bench work in our well-equipped product development laboratory.
- The R&D Chemist will work with minimum supervision, developing new products and processes, relating to the areas of coatings, potting and adhesives for the automotive, packaging, electronics and textile industries. Approximately 70% of the time will involve hands-on lab work and project support, with 30% for report generation and general administrative matters,

Requirements:
- BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 2 + years formulating and processing of epoxy and polyurethane thermosetting resin systems Mechanical and thermal testing equipment (thermal conductivity, DSC, FTIR, INSTRON, etc.)
- Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques needed to analyze, monitor and report results
- Excellent communications skills both verbal, written and proven experience as a project manager who needs minimum supervision and have teamwork skills in a fast paced challenging environment.
