- The Director of Finance will provide leadership for the finance and accounting functions across the organization and be accountable for the accounting, budgeting, and internal controls of the company, as well as for the analysis and financial performance of the company.
- Establishes key financial and program objectives or policies for the organization, ensuring compliance with the FAR and other applicable regulations.
- Develop company sales, bookings, profit, and cash forecasts from ongoing operations including new business.
- Drives continuous improvement in department performance.
- Apply critical thinking to assist executive management in identifying risk and developing risk mitigation strategies.
Essential Functions
- Assist and work directly with CFO in support of finance and accounting activities.
- Lead treasury activities for the company, including cash management, p-card program, benefit plan asset management, compliance with internal and external governance policies and procedures, and monitoring and forecasting cash flow.
- Responsible for the budget process and the forecasting process for the company, maintain and update the company s finance model, and challenge assumptions as necessary.
- Lead company accounting processes and execution activities including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Support proposal preparations, including bid/no bid requirements, cost estimating, pricing, RFP review, risk mitigation, and negotiation.
- Review all proposal and contract actions processed within the department prior to signature or negotiation to ensure that appropriate factors have been identified and that all necessary information has been gathered.
- Ensure accurate project set-up, accurate and compliant revenue recognition methods, and timely and accurate billing.
- Provide subject matter expertise in program control & reporting to include delivery of contract-level financial support and analysis (project accounting, project planning, EACs, etc.)
- Compile and communicate monthly financial results to senior leadership team and parent company.
- Lead business insurance coordination for the company.
- Manage Forward Pricing Rate planning process and development of supporting tools to monitor and analyze performance.
- Actively support both internal, external and government cost accounting related audit requirements to include periodic financial audits, internal controls testing and interfacing with government auditors on compliance related activities
- Work with relevant auditors and support the Forward Pricing Audits.
- Monitor, analyze and report on actual versus plan performance with regard to all indirect rates.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators for company.
- Analyze and evaluate financial plans, objectives, policies, and goals.
- Understand the business and contribute to decisions.
- Review strategic plans and risk management plans for completeness, consistency, and risk tolerance.
- Perform profitability analysis.
- Assist with merger and acquisition activities as necessary.
- Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the company s systems and controls.
- May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor s degree in economics, business, accounting, or related field. Master s degree desired.
- CPA or MPA desired.
- 8+ years experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- US Federal Government contractor experience desired.
