Responsibilities of the Paralegal Workers Comp Defense:
- Serve as legal team liaison to client representatives, third parties, and outside counsel to effectively manage flow and accuracy of information
- Attain necessary documents and facts enabling financial decisions; intake case details including medical summaries
- Drafting & proofreading correspondence & discoveries, pleadings, arbitration memos
- Assist with sending and responding to written discovery, including interrogatories
- Organize, maintain and supervise document collection for assigned cases and firm attorneys
- Routinely review and follow-up on client deadlines and calendar appointments.
- Consistently complete assigned tasks within required timeframes and deadlines.
Requirements
Qualifications of the Paralegal - Workers Comp Defense:
- 3- 5 years in a law firm working with Worker s Compensation Defense cases
- Experience with Pennsylvania WCAIS
- Qualified to perform substantive legal work; certification by NALA, NFPA or another professional paralegal program a plus
- Experienced and knowledgeable in assessing plaintiffs cases and evaluating medical summaries
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Methodical, detail-oriented, accurate
- Able to work on site in Philadelphia office as needed
- Exceptional work ethic, proactive and team-oriented
