Job Description

Optotune Switzerland AG is a global high-tech optics company on a strong growth path of +50% per year. We develop, manufacture and market the latest generation of adaptive optics for industrial, medical and consumer markets. Our customers create innovative products leveraging our unique optical components such as liquid lenses, fast steering mirrors, laser speckle reducers or beam shifters.

Since our humble beginnings in 2008, the fast paced, risk-taking culture of North America has always fit with our culture and been an important source of our growth and inspiration. Your role will be to be the first Optotune America based feet on the ground, build out our existing relationships, grow our sales further and expand our global footprint, including hiring staff.

We do not have a fixed location yet. Part of your responsibility will be to find the perfect spot to start our journey. You will be able and required to work remotely for the first months.

Your Opportunity

  • Establish a local subsidiary (location to be discussed)
  • Recruit and lead a local sales, application engineering & marketing team
  • Strengthen the relationships with existing key accounts
  • Acquire new business in the US, Canada & Mexico
  • Provide feedback to product management
  • Manage and foster local sales partners
  • Support local marketing activities including several trade shows

Qualifications

  • Must have technical background (MSc or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in optics/photonics
  • Market knowledge in medical, microscopy, semiconductor, machine vision and laser processing applications
  • Ability to identify new customers, build up & maintain relationships
  • Ability to understand customers' technical requirements and suggest solutions
  • Passion for sales, ability to work autonomously and prepared to travel internationally
  • Excellent knowledge of English, good knowledge of Spanish, other languages advantageous
  • Good working knowledge in MS Office applications
