Job Description

The Client

Our client a well-established client a multi- disciplinary fire engineering consultancy with over 75 years of industry experience. My client operate to strict guidelines set out by the institution of Fire Engineers. My client provide fast, reliable and straight-forward external wall system reviews, cladding reviews and fire risk assessments across the UK. All building owners are responsible for the completion of the EWS1 Form process.


We are looking for an individual of technical excellence to join the External Wall and Inspection Team for our well established client to deliver customer facing fire safety engineering work. The base location of this position will be at our London office however we will also consider people nationwide as projects range within the Manchester, Birmingham and London areas.

Job Purpose


You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions. Candidates must have the following experience: Over 3 years of relevant experience within Fire Engineering. Degree in fire engineering. Extensive experience in delivering fire engineered solutions for UK based projects in particular the External Walls on low and high rise buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the development of the business strategy relating to all aspects of external wall system work.
  • Providing technical input to the review designs of external wall systems in both new and existing buildings. Attending site to review existing external wall systems, and then throughout the remediation of any identified defects.
  • Developing PAS 9980 fire risk appraisal reports and supporting completion of EWS1 certificates.
  • Carry out design reviews making sure compliant to the regulations.
  • Certifying EWS1 forms upon completion.
  • To determine the design and decide the category in which the findings will fall in.
Experience / Skills

Do you have what it takes?

  • A recognised Chartered Fire Safety Engineer or Chartered Engineer status in an appropriately linked subject is desired, but not essential
  • Experience of working in a multi-site, multi-discipline business.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant statutory documentation, standards, codes of practice and guidance.
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering technical success.
  • Experience in certifying EWS1 Forms upon completion of all recordings and design reviews.
Qualifications
  • MiFirE Degree
  • Chartered Fire Engineer (CENG)
  • Familiar with Option A Appendix
