Protea Recruitment is working with a well-established Food Manufacturer based in Fife looking for a Stock Controller
This new and exciting role as Stock Controller, you will play a vital role taking ownership and will be leading the materials planning. This is through effective planning of all raw material and packaging, you will ensure consistent, adequate flow of materials enabling production at the time required, without disruption to the supply plan.
Key accountabilities/responsibilities
- Demonstrating clear communication skills, you will liaise with purchasing, planning and sales admin teams to ensure cross functional goals are met in line with targets, whilst ensuring material availability meets daily schedules in full and on time, controlling stock transfer costs to a minimum.
- You will be instrumental in data capture and will be required to responsibility share this will the relevant key stakeholders, providing data for KPI and daily meetings.
- Identifying optimum storage solutions and synergies to ensure adequate space is afforded for bulk purchasing of receipt of consignment stock to provide factories with products at minimal cost and maximum efficiencies.
- As part of inventory management and control of raw materials, finished goods and work in progress; you will be able to identify stock locations, and monitor discrepancies, identifying identified stock issues.
- You will work closely with our suppliers and procurement to resolve gaps and delays in supply and escalate where appropriate to resolve queries, ensuring relevant documents are logged and easily accessible.
- You will also action stock transfers, including e-commerce stock requests; this involves liaising and maintaining good working relationships with 3rd party offsite storage, and onsite production and warehouse & stores personnel.

- Previous experience in a similar role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
- Supply planning experience is essential
- Key decision-making skills are required
- Good IT skills (SAP is desirable, excel is essential)
- Strong attention to detail and analytically confident
- Highly organised with effective time management skills
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and unambiguous documentation
- Excellent team working capabilities
- Also, able to work in close harmony with the project, business, and technical teams to ensure the end goal is met
- Previous Experience within a Food/ FMCG sector is essential
- UK Rights to work already in place are essential
