Software Engineer Robotics (F/M/D)

The Opportunity

Can you imagine diving into the development of the software and components for and around our innovative mobile indoor mapping system, operated by companies in more than 25 countries worldwide?

You will join the Mapping and Perception department__, and collaborate closely with people from a diverse set of cultural and professional backgrounds, who share a passion for delivering top-class mapping solutions that aim to digitize physical spaces through the creation of photorealistic digital twins. The team's mission this year

To elevate our software solutions used in mapping entire buildings and creating realistic 3D representations based on cutting-edge technology in the area of robotics.

How you will make an impact

• By designing and implementing features for the software on our mapping devices
• You will create concepts, software architecture & design for our core software stack (C++, Linux/Ubuntu, ROS, Python)
• You will collaborate with our hardware teams on the evaluation and integration of new sensors, compute units, and components incl. performance and quality evaluations
• You will write drivers or APIs to bridge the hardware/software interface
• By being involved in the full life-cycle of software development from design to deployment including infrastructure and continuous integration/delivery
• You will handle the continuous improvement of automated tests and automated delivery of software

What will help you succeed in the role

• A Master's degree or Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or similar
• Proficiency in C++ and Python
• Proficiency with Linux and drivers (embedded)
• Your expertise with ROS (Robot Operating System) or other robotic software ecosystems
• Experience with the hardware of sensors like laser scanners, IMUs, and cameras would be nice to have
• Experience with PCL (Point Cloud Library) and OpenCV is a good addition
