Epic Community Connect EHR implementations focused on ambulatory setting for community providers in Atrium markets.
Application Specialist will provide consultation and complete design/build/testing/go-live activities for Epic HIM module. The Application Specialist must have an in-depth understanding of workflows, policies and procedures, billing office practices, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acting as the primary contact for the Epic HIM module application for all phases of the system development life cycle
Serving as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic implementation staff to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs
Performing in-depth analysis and documentation of current state/future state workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical requirements associated with Epic software
Understanding the choices involved in application configuration
Following standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications using the Epic Style Guide for Master File Naming and Numbering Conventions
Application testing scenario development, execution, and remediation to ensure system functionality and integration with other applications/systems as appropriate
Ensuring that data coming across an interface into or from the Epic application meets the business need
Troubleshooting problems and questions from end users
Working with report writers to ensure that the application has the necessary reports.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
A deep understanding of the Epic HIM module associated end user workflows
Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, and manage a project plan
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to develop, document and ensure adherence to technical standards
Ability to understand customer requirements and the impact on technical/functional performance of the application
The ability and interest to learn the software and increase knowledge over time
Eagerness to learn the system and promote it within the organization
Operational experience in a clinical setting (helpful, not required)
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Epic HIM Certification
Experience Resolute Professional Billing Claims & Remittance
o Experienced work experience and use of Professional Billing application and familiarity with workflows and integration points in the areas of:
Claims
Payment posting
Electronic remittance
Nice, but not necessary:
o Knowledge of charge router/charging workflows
o Knowledge of insurance follow-up workflows
o Knowledge of reimbursements contracts and fee schedules
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related job field preferred
Health care industry experience preferred
TRAVEL:
Minor travel to be expected. Primarily for customer discovery sessions and go-live support events.
