New Product - Quality Engineer
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include these types of pro-active activities related to critical suppliers:
Conduct supplier quality audits Coordinate new Suppliers and new outsourced components for new model launches to ensure the part(s) meets the design engineering specifications (PPAP type activities). Maintain and report key process and key activity indicators. Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards. Support Platforms by assessing reliability risk of new programs supplier readiness. Support the development of the Engineering Test Plan and Design Validation Plan along with Product Development (PD) and Product Validation (PV) to monitor the compliance of the plan related to critical suppliers. Participate in FMEAs, design reviews and lead advanced problem-solving activities. Lead/execute the quality actions required in each phase of the Product Development Process. During the PD phases, continuously assess the quality status of the program, take actions within the platform to address issues and to define acceptable standards. Escalate unresolved supplier quality issues as appropriate to facilitate resolution. Lead Problem Resolution as it pertains to new product launches. Travel outside of Kansas 5% Travel inside of Kansas (i.e. day trips to suppliers) 50% Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree plus 3 or more years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
- or High school diploma plus 5 or more years of professional experience in a Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Quality related positions with a Manufacturing Lean or Green Belt certification.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Engineering degree/experience strongly preferred
- Manufacturing Quality experience
- Knowledge of Welding
- Manufacturing Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- High-level or expert with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
- Familiar with AutoCAD, 3D Solid Modeling and Creo
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Able to work independently
- Able to Travel outside of Kansas 5%
- Able to Travel inside of Kansas (i.e. day trips to suppliers and other facilities) 50%
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
