Required Skills:
The Embedded Hardware Test Engineer provides a technical contribution within an area of expertise as a member of a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the Research and Development division.
They lead requirement, analysis, detailed design and verification activities for a section of a complete product.
In addition, they collaborate with other team members on the overall design of the final product, under the guidance of the project leader.
Reviews design inputs for accuracy, clarity, and testability
Participates in daily stand-up meetings
Develops effective component, integration and system level test cases for hardware requirements
Performs failure analysis and system analysis including the use of hardware debugging
Develops best practices and establishes guidelines for writing and executing test cases
Provides estimates of test activities
Applies technical competencies in somewhat difficult situations
Identifies technical problems and provides innovative and creative solutions
Shares technical knowledge with others in the team
Generates alternatives and takes reasonable risks while solving technical problems
Generates detailed, high quality technical documentation to capture and communicate designs
Seeks knowledge of the business, market, industry and competitive environment
Completes assigned tasks on time with minimal supervision
Uses existing tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics
Informs others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments

BS Degree (preferably in a technical discipline)
4+ years of engineering experience, or comparable experience
Extensive experience in operating test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DVMs, signal generators, lab power supplies, protocol analyzers, etc.
Experience with embedded hardware design, using MCU, DSP, or GPP host processors
Experience with embedded processor peripheral design, including external memory, serial I/O, bit-level control
Strong experience with test case design of various test types and execution
Experience with analog design
Experience with Inter-module communication bus design
Experience with mixed signal design
Experience in the medical device industry is preferred
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical tools and assembly
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Engineering software
Experience with module specification and testing to requirements
Experience with printed circuit board design, including preliminary design, detailed design, design realization/board build, board design verification, hardware/software integration, and system integration
Experience with allocation of requirements to modules, hardware, and software
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficient problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
2+ years working in cross functional teams consisting of discipline specific engineers, or comparable experience
Experience with project management is preferred
Thrives on change and adapts to leader-initiated changes
