The Product quality test engineer will interface with sales and service teams, to develop, test and resolve customer issues. The role requires working directly with quality, engineering, manufacturing, service, parts centers, to determine, test, develop cause and manage field quality issues to resolution. This position is responsible for providing test results and reporting on all activities to stakeholders and management.
Responsibilities:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Ext/Int/Closures systems module group, lead technical discussions with manufacturing and engineering while pushing for timely response and completion of systematic problem resolution..
- Interface, investigate and assist in the completion of corrective actions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support and lead conference calls between all parties during issue resolution
- Oversee compliance with technical and organizational requirements including sharing, uploading and maintaining logs on warranty & issue management systems.
- Good understanding of NHTSA standards, Lemon Law and QMS.
- Possess experience and knowledge of Dealer Management System (DMS) and ability to mine quality data into presentation worthy form.
- Track, Maintain and Report KPIs as defined by the QMS.
- Participate and/or lead quality initiatives associated with new vehicle launch process, NPI process and early detection warning strategy and reflash activities.
- Interface and work with field quality engineer on-site to resolve quality or delivery related issues. Lead correction action plans and containment as required. Maintain clear records of such events.
- Lead quality engineering initiatives as required in part recovery and vehicle condition reports.
- Reporting on summaries, and presentations in presentable and shareable formats with executive management as required.
- Lead quality engineering initiatives as necessary in part recovery and vehicle condition reports.
- Must be able and willing to travel 30~45% of the time within territory as required in order to fulfill job responsibilities and sometimes with little notice.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S in Engineering required.
- 5+ year's experience in automotive and quality engineering with an understanding of standards and procedures.
- Production support experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
- Requires technical background and understanding of electrical engineering, mechanical and software engineering with experience with Exterior and Interior Closure Systems vehicle module group.
- Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.

- Good communication skills.
- Able to work without supervision with results driven focus.
