Job Title: Engineering Technician II 35085
Description:
- Develops and evaluates new technologies or methods (mechanics hydraulics algorithms software etc.)
- Plans and executes engineering work for product validation and verification of significant parts of major projects or complete projects with well-defined objectives.
- Responsible for problem identification and resolution corrective action tracking reliability analysis and verification/validation test plan development.
- Is a member of a product/project team.
- Provides guidance on test procedures to engineers and support personnel.
- Work with design engineers on building test fixtures, debug circuitry and perform testing.
Responsibilities:
- Designs schedules and performs field and/or lab tests to validate new product designs. Analyzes complex test data draws conclusions and summarizes reports acting as liaison between the Product Verification & Validation (PV&V) dept and product engineering.
- Performs analyses of customer data (i.e., warranty Dealer Technical Assistance Center (DTAC) customer satisfaction surveys Early Detection Problem Resolution (EDPR)).
- Plans and performs analytical and experimental work to obtain undefined operating loads and/or develop new test procedures.
- Gives work direction to test operators.
- Assists in developing and coordinating changes to product definition documents.
- Coordinates problem identification activities and tracks corrective action progress.
- Perform inspection and test as necessary to determine cause of defective electronic assemblies with instruction.
- Rework products per company and industry standards.
- Build test harnesses, loads and circuit boards to support product design as required.
- Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
- Inform supervisor of process or design problems and assist in the corrective action.
- Conduct manual test of electronic circuits and PCBs according to engineering instructions.
- Communicate with others in a professional and effective manner.
- Update test documentation when required for prototype products.
- Design and build engineering test boxes.
- Provide training to less experienced technicians when required.
- Perform other associated tasks as required from their supervisor and manager.

Required Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience in electronics, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry.
Required skills:
- Possess effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling correspondence with internal departments and vendors
- Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheets, and word processing
- Understanding of trouble shooting methodologies to identify root cause
- Knowledge of test equipment, e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Ability to read basic engineering documents, e.g., schematics or diagrams
- Ability to comprehend product/process component datasheets
- Ability to assemble and disassemble products
- Ability to maintain lab equipment
- Ability to perform basic mechanical work
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
What makes you stand out:
- A.S. in Electronics or a two-year technical diploma, equivalent military certification or equivalent experience
- Three or more years of related experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering or a related industry
- Hands-on SMT soldering experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and electronic components
- Experience with 3D printing
