Hybrid 3 days a week on site

Description:

IT Asset Management team is currently looking for a Hardware Analyst to focus on the management of Hard Drives, a process which is going to be auditable and will have close watch from the oversight committees. The analyst will closely work with the CBRE facilities team and will follow the processes laid out by Data Center management team. The role will report into ITAM manager, the working hours will be 2:00 pm ET to 10:00 pm ET.

Key Responsibilities of the H/W Analyst are as follows:

  • Monitor ITAM Mailbox for Hard Drive Events (like Decom, Hard drive Retrieval Request, Drive Disposal Request, New Drive Storage)
  • The analyst will receive communication about drive decom events, upon which the analyst will arrange to meet with the CBRE tam to receive the drives. (please note that CBRE working hours are 5:00 pm to 1 am Monday through Friday)
  • Create Event in Hard Drive Event log and create corresponding folder in our Events folder to house and place copies of evidence, email, spreadsheet & photos of signed documents within the folder.
  • Once drives are received, they are installed in the Blancco tool, used to wipe the drives.
  • Drive wiping will result in erasure reports that need to be recorded from the drive station and stored to the ITAM Sharepoint site, then sent to drive tracking team
  • Securely store the drives in our onsite storage rooms/cabinets at our data center locations
  • OR - transfer the drives to the teams that maintain inventory at our alternate data center locations
  • Record In each step of these processes (with all required evidence) and update the status of the hardware in our CMDB
  • Send drive transfer event data to the drive tracking team
  • In addition to decom events, the Alpharetta team would also need to cover drive transfer requests where drives need to be moved into or out of the onsite storage rooms/cabinets that the ITAM team controls.
  • Attend ET ITAM HW team calls with our team leads - keeping the team informed of recent events and status of record keeping and any problems with the Blancco gear or interactions with the other teams
  • The more senior person at each location would be required to coordinate with the junior on-site person to make sure all potential event times are covered (recommend 3pm to 11pm shift to provide overlap with the ITAM and CBRE teams)

Skill Set

  • The candidate should be proficient in the use multiple IT service management systems such as but not limited to Remedy & ServiceNow.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage time and effectively
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment. Should be able to physically move the technology assets in between data center floor to asset storage room. Should be able to lift 50 lbs.

Education

    • High school degree or equivalent- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred

Experience Requirements

    • Knowledge and expertise with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
