Job Description

Title:Data Warehouse Developer

Location: HYBRID: 100 Hancock Street, Quincy,MA

Hours per Week: 37.5 hour work week holidays are not work days

Deadline for Submission: COB, Friday, November 11th

Client: MassHealth Data Warehouse Team

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The MassHealth Data Warehouse Team (MHDW) supports MassHealth organizational data exchange, storage, transformation, access, query, technology, and reporting needs. The MHDW teams include: Business Analytics, Operations, Data Quality, Informatics, Federal Reporting, Business Intelligence, and Project Management Office. In additional to maintaining data applications, services, technologies, and infrastructure; the MHDW partners with the Data Integrity, Data Strategy, and MassHealth Analytics teams to manage new and existing project portfolio requests received from MassHealth business teams through a formalized Intake, Governance, and Prioritization process.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Warehouse Report Developer will support existing warehouse analytics and provide input on best practices and potential efficiencies, work on multiple assignments concurrently to meet aggressive due dates, uses a range of expert technical skills based on a keen knowledge of data warehouse concepts, and must be highly proficient with Oracle SQL. This resource needs to have extensive experience querying tables and views to develop, enhance, and update new and existing reports. This resource will also be responsible for the development of data visualizations using contemporary business intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau, Cognos, Snowflake, and/or SAS.

JOB DUTIES:

Develop reports and data visualizations using Tableau Server

  • Perform ETL development and manage data exchange on AWS and Azure platforms
  • Provide ad-hoc reports and extract based on user requests
  • Provide gap analysis of current data extract process
  • Identify remediation of data extract process gaps and propose solutions
  • Validate results of all extracts and reports
  • Interact on a professional basis with internal and external staff in a personable manner
  • Develop reports for general, financial, clinical and case management, Managed Care, and Health Care and payment Reform purpose as requested.
  • Support on-going development of cost, utilization and other reporting metrics, including collaboration with business program managers for MCO, HIX, and MMIS source data
  • Communicate business requirements to Cognos and Oracle developers and work with them to implement solutions for the business community.
  • Communicate progress, or impediments to progress, to users and managers.
  • Recode existing macro-based code, including remediation as approved
  • Review technical documents and test plans, test results and coordinate implementation activities with end-users and MassHealth Data Warehouse staff
  • Organize and maintain workload and work independently with limited supervision
  • Participate in, and contribute to, team projects and meetings

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS (Special Skill Set, Abilities & Knowledge):

  • Mange assigned requests from a variety of diverse business users.
  • Understand business requirements, and regulatory needs and their impact on business and DW
  • Maintain comprehensive code and documentation consistent with DW practice and policy
  • Generate accurate queries and outputs consistently and under pressure
  • Evaluation requests, gather business requirements and creatively develop solutions, generating accurate queries and outputs consistently and under pressure
  • Improve and innovation processes and programs that meeting user needs
  • Produce standard and ADHOC reports using various tools and data sources
  • Conduct advanced data mining in a timely and accurate manner as required
  • Produce business and system documentation based on EOHHS standards

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: (Education, Year' Experience & Certificates):

  • BS in Computer Science, related degree, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive SQL experience within a data warehouse environment required
  • 3+ years' experience working as a programmer/developer, preferably in healthcare
