About the Position

We are looking for motivated teachers based in Berlin for inclusion classes within the Speak&Code program that emerged as a collaboration between Kiron, Lingoda and LeWagon as a response to the war in Ukraine. This is a freelance working opportunity for people who are looking for a rewarding, fun & hands-on job that creates true impact in the form of language, inclusion and participation skills for newcomers in Germany.

The classes are designed in a ready-to-be-picked-up format - you won t have to prepare materials and exercises beforehand. We prepared everything in advance. The classes take place in person (offline) each Friday from 3 to 5 pm CET, starting on Nov 11 until the end of April.

Tasks

As an inclusion course teacher you will .

• Be responsible for our student s success by hosting engaging inclusion classes on LeWagon Campus with ready-to-be-picked-up exercises, materials and instructions
• Facilitate student discussions and peer-learning activities.
• Collect and channel questions from students to the Kiron student success coordinator
• Help our refugee and migrant students to feel welcome and start a new life in Germany

Requirements

About you

• You have prior teaching experience
• You are looking for a flexible, fun & hands-on job that creates true impact for newcomers in Germany in the Tech/IT industry
• You are culturally aware, sensible & sensitive
• You have an engaging, fun & professional attitude
• You are an English speaker (ideally mother tongue or at least C1 level)

You ideally also have .

• Experience in teaching integration courses or giving intercultural trainings
• Experience in teaching language classes
• Study experience in the fields of social or cultural sciences, anthropology, sociology, psychology, German studies, international studies, history or languages.
• German or other language skills
• Flexible availability
• Registration as a freelancer
• Flexible availability.
