Job Description

Position Title: HR Consultant

Our client, leading advisory and accounting firm is looking to hire HR Consultant in Lancaster, PA. The HR Consultant acts as an advisor adept at solving organizational challenges through better people strategy. Working closely with business owners and executive teams, the HR Consultant guides leadership into fresh thinking and sound solutions for their every day and more challenging Human Capital Management needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the information gathering process and take responsibility for ensuring that correct information is requested/provided within the project design.
  • Actively participate in indirect supervision and big-picture problem solving and some direct supervision.
  • Serve as client contact for more complex questions and information.
  • Manage project quality and risk.
  • Proficiently use appropriate technology; identify and recommend new technology and/or uses of technology in consulting practice.
  • Independently tackle issues/problems through research and develop recommendations for resolution.
  • Hold responsibility and accountability for engagement profitability and realization. Hold responsibility for profitability goals in areas of expertise. Bill on a timely and consistent basis and bill appropriately for out-of-scope services.
  • Monitor their own and coachees' billable hours and actively seek out opportunities to ensure the achievement of billable hour goals.
  • Develop professional relationships within other Service Lines and across the Firm. Interact with Partners and Practice Leaders. Identify gatekeepers and referral sources. Participate in select business development opportunities, as requested. Provide BD opportunities to newer Consultants on your team.
  • Identify opportunities within the client base. Actively participate in prospecting activities by attending proposal meetings, writing proposal content, providing "warm" leads to Business Development.
  • Proactively price and scope projects in new service offerings.
  • Participate in internal marketing and firm leadership initiatives, hold a leadership position in an industry or community organization; regularly attend community/business development functions.
  • Model positive team behavior and demonstrate a "do-what-it--takes" attitude.
  • Manage deadlines while respecting your own and your team's work-life balance.
  • Manage own schedule and incorporate various work environments throughout the geography; respond appropriately to team members' needs for direct interaction.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business or related field required
  • SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR certifications preferred
  • Minimum 8 years' progressive HR experience across multiple disciplines and industries, preferably in a supervisory capacity; prior consulting experience a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, HR best practices and compliance
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate creative problem solving skills and intellectually curious/motivated to develop professionally through continuous learning
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects within restricted timelines
