Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment.
Essential Functions:
- Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including coordination of the monthly close process
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
- Accomplishes accounting human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, coaching, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute annual financial audit
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures, with emphasis on internal control.
- Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation; enforcing accounting regulations; recommending new procedures.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
