Job Description

Pro Bono Manager For top tier global law firm with an award-winning pro bono program providing legal assistance to economically-disadvantaged individuals to expand access to justice. This is a hybrid position with mostly remote work.
The Pro Bono Manager will work closely with the Pro Bono Counsel, Deputy Pro Bono Counsel and other members of the Pro Bono Team to maximize the programs benefit to pro bono clients and the Firm, with a particular focus on managing cross-office initiatives to enhance attorney engagement.

Responsibilities:
Manage assigned clinics, brief advice projects, and discrete advisory matters, including interfacing with referring organizations, recruiting lawyers to participate, screening for conflicts of interest, securing new matter approvals, and executing day-of logistics as applicable.
Manage curriculum of pro bono trainings and programs developed in collaboration with the Pro Bono Team to support and promote pro bono engagement.
Provide project management support for key functions and areas of focus, including: year-round campaign to promote senior lawyer pro bono participation; development and monitoring of firmwide goals relating to pro bono engagement and impact; partner-led signature projects and cross-departmental or cross-office initiatives; Public Service Committee engagement; development and maintenance of internal resources (e.g., pro bono policies and p[procedures); and Pro bono collaborations with the Firms commercial clients.
Support risk management and client service by monitoring progress on select pro bono matters and supporting transition of pro bono matters of departing lawyers.

Position Requirements: Bachelors degree required. Minimum of five years relevant work experience, preferably in the law firm or nonprofit legal sectors, professional services, or a project management role. Experience in pro bono management and familiarity with the public interest legal sector preferred but not required. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Excellent judgment and discretion, including as to confidential information.
A highly organized and self-directed approach to work with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Impeccable attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams and Zoom. Salary is commensurate with experience.
