Java Developer

PURPOSE AND DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Employees assigned to this job title work in distributed, departmental, client/server, and web based architectures and roles; or oversee the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of operating or communications systems software and provide technical guidance needed to resolve operational problems; or provide assistance in the analysis, design, and implementation of software programs that support the agency's clients, employees, and overall mission. The IT Analyst III documents systems or programming actions from initial design through ongoing maintenance. Other typical related duties may include strategic network planning, automated geographic reference database work, specialty Department of
Technology Services (DTS) operations, technical support, technology consulting, data administration, application review services, and/or web application development. Employees lead or functionally supervise subordinate staff. This job is a DTS title that has been designated for cross agency use in order to accommodate only those agencies that are exempt from using DTS services.
