Duties: The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Lakeside Behavioral Health and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care. The Registered nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The Registered nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Registered Nurse may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female adults and dually diagnosed patients. Experience: One-year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred. Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training. RN has to be experienced working with adolescence or comfortable working with them.
Skills: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. RN has to be experienced working with adolescence or comfortable working with them.
Education: Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse.
