You will be joining the Platform Tribe at HelloTech. Platform forms a stable and fresh environment for our talented teams of developers to thrive. As well as building a great foundation, you will also be responsible for spreading knowledge throughout the other tribes. We want to make sure everyone is taking advantage of the easy-to-use infrastructure, and applying the best practices, to make our engineering organization as productive and effective as possible. You will be challenged as a senior technical leader and have an opportunity to work with highly competent colleagues on challenging engineering problems and have a great impact on the organization.

What youll do


Architect, build, and maintain the scalable, available, and secure Kafka platform

Champion observability and visibility into the system

Lead improvements to our automation, tooling, and libraries that enable all Kafka adopter

Advocate for best practices in Kafka usage and adoption

Enable data governance and paved paths in our platform

Mentor and coach engineers in your squad and tribe

What youll bring


You have an extensive, well-rounded background in the usage of Kafka platforms as well as the surrounding ecosystem (schema registries, etc.)

You have recent hands-on experience with Java, Kotlin, and Python or Golang

You are not afraid to ask questions, or give, and receive feedback.

You are conscious of security, performance, metrics and deliverables

You have good knowledge of design patterns, system architecture, and best practices

You love to automate things

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with data streaming using Protobuf and service-to-service communication using gRPC


Interacting with front-end developers, designers, product managers and our teams around the world is very much part of our day-to-day, so communication skills are vital. We are looking for strong problem-solvers who can apply their engineering skills to a wide range of platforms and environments, while also acting as an ambassador to coach team members and stakeholders.
