Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing whats right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Policy Lead, you will advise internal Google teams on core principles, design policies, and standards to address abuse risks and enable responsible growth. You will engage with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders across Google to design thoughtful cross-product approaches on key priorities. You will focus on policy development for the Monetized team, Trust and Safety, Global Policy and Standards team on a set of products such as YouTube Ads and sell-side products.
In this role, you will balance the legal and regulatory requirements with the needs of users, partners, and advertisers, while upholding core values.
This role may review graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive content during the course of the role in line with Google's policies. You should have the ability to review or be exposed to sensitive or violative content as part of the core role.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Googles products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.Responsibilities

Anticipate policy issues facing product and technology platforms. Lead, develop, an implement policies and enforcement recommendations for Google products with a view towards user safety, product quality, and privacy.


Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure policy analysis and recommendations. Resolve high-profile policy issues coming from the public, users, and internal stakeholders.


Influence product decisions, prioritization, and improve user experience for policy-related issues through collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, and Trust and Safety teams.


Drive awareness and understanding of our product policies within Google and across our user base through research to set industry standards.
