Position Summary: The Financial Analyst will support the FP&A Manager with financial analysis and planning connected to the Livent business, including sales forecasting, non-manufacturing cost centers, support of the sales and commercial team and analytic work related to the business. The role will also support the Manufacturing Finance Manager and Global Finance Director with selected analytic and forecasting activities. The role will require a good foundation in accounting and financial analysis but will build on this skillset through gradually increasing knowledge of the Livent business, operations, accounting and financial analytics. The position will work extensively in SAP with emphasis on the BI and PA modules. The position requires strong analytic ability, the desire to learn and a commitment to teamwork within a dynamic, fast-paced business in an exciting sector.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


General Responsibilities
Support the execution of core FP&A activities for Livent, including budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and core financial analysis.
Partner with Commercial and Supply Chain organization to improve projections and analysis processes, ensuring alignment across functions.
Provide financial expertise and strategic support to leadership and business partners assisting decision making, analysis and projection.
Work safely and proactively with global finance team and other functions providing financial support and business insights.

FP&Afor Management Team:
Assist with monthly and quarterly forecasts for Livent, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecast process and analyze and communicate changes in actual results and forecasts in both external and management reporting. Perform quality control activities related to reporting and financial submissions.
Support Livent finance leadership in the completion of annual planning activities and the development of an annual budget
Execute management reporting cadence and provide reporting and analytics to Livent leadership.
Provide inputs to accounting for the preparation of month, quarter and year-end schedules.
Assists with audits from a business perspective as needed.
Complete special projects with an emphasis on supporting data gathering and analysis for project proposals and scenario planning.
Highlight opportunities to reduce costs, improve bottom line and gain efficiencies.
Provide input/ suggestions for process improvement initiatives within the FP&A space.
Assist with technology improvements as required.
Assist in special manufacturing and operations projects that require financial and cost support.
Support with preparation of review decks for management and CEO/CFO meetings.

Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Numerical or Engineering field with 2-3 years of financial analysis or financial - accounting oriented roles.
Experience in financial management and performing financial analyses

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Analytic abilities & mindset, high intelligence, adaptability, work ethic.
Advanced skills using enterprise software systems (SAP preferred), and MS Office products. In particular, candidate should be expert with Excel and be able to use advanced features such as linking files, running macros, and using pivot tables. Strong on PowerPoint.
Ability to gather and manipulate data from multiple sources.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated and strong organizational skills.
Prior experience in the budgeting and forecasting functions
Strong written & verbal communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines with minimal supervision.
Previous experience in planning and conducting complex studies to determine cost of business activities and recommends budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision, proactively adjudge and react to potential problems, and effectively communicate at all levels of management.
Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with ability to identify financial drivers and perform high level/detailed assessments and analyzes.
Previous experience in a manufacturing operation is a plus.
Experience of multi-currency accounting environment beneficial.
