Senior Manager, Clinical Operations Late Development Lead
Line Manager in Matrix organization of clinical protocol managers and support specialists, crossing all therapeutic areas and research phases (incl. late development projects i.e. NIS, ISRs), collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational aspects of complex, global clinical research studies from Concept to Final Study Report.
Position Summary
Leading and managing a team of Protocol Managers, responsible for their work assignments and career development.
Member of Department Leadership Team focused on development, accountability and success of team members.
Lead or contribute to department process and continuous improvement activities.
Contributes to cross organizational processes and initiatives.
Leverage interpersonal and influencing skills to foster partnerships across global and/or multidisciplinary teams.
Position Responsibilities
Line Manager for a team of Protocol Managers:
Manage direct reports work assignments.
Contribute to resource allocation decisions, taking into account strategy to ensure best fits for work assignment.
Partner with direct reports to create and monitor career development plans.
Manage performance including check-ins and year-end activities.
Identify individual development needs and coach for success.
Contribute to compensation decisions.
Member of Department Leadership Team:
Collaborate with Line Manager colleagues to develop and enhance department processes.
Share Lessons Learned relative to people management or process.
Lead or contribute to development of new processes and Continuous Improvement efforts within the greater Clinical Operations or BMS organization.
Degree Requirements
BA or BS
Experience Requirements
7-10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience; experience managing global clinical trials preferred.
Key Competency Requirements
Project, change management and coaching skills, effective oral and written communication, resource allocation, leadership presence. Enterprise mindset and able to connect key principles or people to produce refined concepts and processes.
