Job Description

SUMMARY
The Manager, Accounting is responsible for the oversight of general accounting/reporting activities of the assigned Business Units. Lead the day-to-day
accounting operations including functional responsibility over areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit/collections, billing/invoicing, Travel & Expense, cash application. In coordination with the CFO, establish financial policies, practices and procedures that are consistent with GAAP and Parent Company requirements. Responsible for the daily monitoring of General Accounting activities, completion of monthly close, periodic reporting and reconciliation to the General Ledger. Work closely with business leaders and their staffs, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures, but also to explore how accounting can support program operations.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Timely completion of all monthly cash reconciliations and owns the monthly charge-off process for unreconciled items.

  • Manages the cash settlement process, including adhering to associated daily deadlines.

  • Coordinates month end accounting activities ensuring all accounting entries and reports are completed on a timely and accurate basis.

  • Compliance with GAAP, policies and procedures.

  • Prepare reporting financial statements, audits and special requests.

  • Assists with the functionality of all related system upgrades/conversions, interdepartmental support, or other system related issues.

  • Responsible for performing complex special accounting and reconciliation projects.

  • Continuously create process improvements.

  • Manage transactional accounting including: a/p, a/r, billing, invoicing, commercial collections.

  • Responds to inquiries from management, auditors and other authorities regarding accounting and reconciliation issues, data in reports and financial statements issued by the department, policies, and procedures.

  • Coaches, develops, and mentors staff to include complete performance management plans. Trains and
    instructs employees in job duties and Company policies or arrange for training to be provided. Conducts
    periodic check-ins and annual performance evaluations, assigns goals and provides feedback and support
    to personnel. Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed.




HIRING PROFILE


  • Minimum 5 years experience in public and/or industry accounting with financial accounting (GAAP).

  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing or leading a team of professionals.

  • Strong background and understanding of accounting concepts.

  • Strong task organization skills that enable the individual to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in
    a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Great Plains, FRX Financial Reporting, Access, Onbase, Crossroads, Concur, Excel and
    other Microsoft Office applications.



EDUCATION


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance.

  • CPA a plus, not required
