Residential Estimator

Construction Trades Staffing is seeking a Residential Estimator in the Buffalo, NY area. As a Residential Estimator you will be tasked with determining estimates for the time, materials and labor involved in residential renovation. You will be responsible for developing scopes of work while properties are under consideration for purchase, full-scope cost and time estimates for properties that have been purchased and assist in development of the initial project plan and execution.

The candidate needs to be based in the Buffalo, NY area with the ability to travel to
Rochester, NY. There could be an occasional need to support remote markets as well.

For this Residential Estimator position the Essential Duties are:

• Clear understanding of remodeling work scopes


• Visit the sites of homes to perform inspections


• Measure homes and collect field data to support estimates of time, cost, materials and labor required to renovate or remodel single family homes


• Prepare detailed work scopes and cost estimates using company-provided specifications, documentation, and proprietary software


• Assist in monitoring work in the field to assure adherence to project work scope.


• Perform lock changes on homes on occasion


• Perform punch walks and site inspections


• Commute between our Buffalo and Rochester locations (milage reimbursement)


• Preparation of weekly and monthly reporting on project progress


• Strong computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Office


• Ability to learn company-specific software and applications


• Experience dealing with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors


• Ability to travel to other markets as business needs dictate around the Buffalo/Rochester Area
