Senior Cobol Developer Our client is seeking a Senior Cobol developer to support a Fujitsu Cobol 64-bit Upgrade for our Investment Book of Records application. The candidate will make all enhancements required to migrate our existing software to 64-bit and execute it in a Windows/Linux environment. The modifications to the Batch System will also require migration of scripts from Solaris to Linux. The candidate will support our Network Separation initiative. As such, the candidate will be expected to quickly become familiar with the existing data-sharing model and our client and subsequently help architect solutions which will enable us to separate our networks. Ability to describe in detail how the candidate goes about Requirement Gathering and interaction with Technical/Business Analysts and other development staff. Ability to explain/describe an existing implementation of Autosys Must Have Autosys experience (Must have) SQL (Must have) Unix/Linux (Must have) Word/Excel/Visio (Nice to have) SFTP and/or MQ (Nice to have) Skills: The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10 years of experience as a.Senior Cobol Developer. Experience with Fujitso NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol a big plus Unix, Unix shell scripting, and Linux experience required. Experience with relational databases required (Sybase a plus Experience with Autosys desired. Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, and production support. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills. Good project management skills. Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience testing software designed for elaborate business scenarios. Aptitude for learning new things and flexibility to adapt and follow guidelines. Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include creation of technical specifications, hands-on development, creating test plans according to published Development Process Framework and providing production support. The Developer will be involved in understanding the current Batch Cycle scheduling process, its dependencies and expected output. Additional tasks will include following business requirements provided by business owners and/or analysts, architecting, coding, testing and implementing required solutions, coordinating user acceptance testing, and post release validation.
