The Senior Director of Events will manage high-profile meetings and events for the entire Wonderful Company. Examples include the companys Annual Executive Meeting (international and domestic), annual holiday party, summer event, retreats for various departments and companies, sales meetings, employee engagement events, brand launches, and community events in California's Central Valley, supporting the Social Impact work of our Education, Health and Wellness and Philanthropy groups. It is a visible position that will collaborate with the entire organization reporting to our Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.
The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated expertise producing first-in-class event experiences and leading a team of in-house professionals and external vendors. They will be at ease in managing complex budgets and have an ability to thrive in pressure situations. They will also have a level of seasoning and professional maturity to deal with prominent, dynamic principals with high expectations for performance.
The position is based in our West Los Angeles headquarters, working a hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office.
Job Description
With the support of a small but mighty team, plan, project manage, and execute a robust portfolio of internally and externally facing events on behalf of The Wonderful Company, our brands, and our Social Impact efforts.
Bring best practices and creativity to the table and act as a consultant/subject matter expert regarding event planning, logistics, approach, and execution.
Be business savvy and, negotiate best pricing with selected sites, venues, caterers, and other vendors while maintaining budget expectations.
Work collaboratively with in-house partners to prepare and manage event contracts, communications, and develop event designs, assets and collateral.
Provide hands-on, high-touch support for your internal clients.
Analyze and report on event outcomes, including post-event surveys, summary of expenses, etc. to ensure an eye for continuous improvement and efficiency.
Demonstrate interpersonal, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, including diplomacy to negotiate conflicting priorities and develop strong relationships.
Collaborate closely with internal groups to plan and manage event details, including project workflows, timelines, and statuses.
Manage timelines and prioritize multiple projects under quick deadlines and short runways, balancing strategic planning and deeply detailed execution.

Minimum of 10 years of business experience, with at least five years of event planning experience in a similar role within a complex, large, global organization.
Deep knowledge of meeting and event planning elements, industry best practices, technologies, production, and third-party service providers with a proven track record of producing high-quality events.
Successful track record of planning high-profile events.
Demonstrated ability to plan events in locations unfamiliar to you, including internationally.
Familiarity with large-scale virtual events, including best-in-class technologies, technical direction, and best practices.
Possess an eye for design, and a creative mindset. You love knowing the trends and bringing new ideas to the table.
Comfort and ability to interface with senior executives.
Experience effectively managing project budgets, vendors, and direct reports.
Ability to work and collaborate as part of a small, fast-paced team with a "roll up your sleeves" mentality.
Self-motivated with strong project management skills, ability to change direction quickly and influence/motivate others.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
Must be willing to travel for site inspections and events, as well as work flexible and occasional long hours dependent upon event schedules.
Familiarity with current event marketing and management technology.
High sense of urgency and superior problem-solving abilities. Fluidity with long and short project runways; ability to confidently adapt to changing event priorities and take ownership of new responsibilities as needed.
Polished, professional appearance -- acts as an ambassador of The Wonderful Company and maintains grace and composure under pressure.
Bachelor's degree in a job-related area or equivalent practical experience.
