The
Quality Control Analyst
will be responsible for accurately performing analytical tests to support operations and meet customer expectations. In addition to performing analytical tests, the quality control analyst will be responsible for ensuring others are appropriately trained and proficient with analytical testing. The quality control analyst will also act as a business unit-specific investigative analyst.


Core Responsibilities:

Accountable for finished product and in-process quality data and prioritizing testing based on business needs and departmental goals
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers that facilitate the companys goals
Become familiar with one business unit operation and investigate issues specific to that unit through additional product testing and/or any issues which may arise with the operations of said unit
Performs all other duties as assigned
Act as the liaison between the lab and QA in regards to customer complaints and recertification requests
Perform investigative analysis for customer complaints and/or internal complaints
Demonstrate safe laboratory practices and maintain environment in a safe, clean and organized manner
Maintain well organized and accurate records to meet customer, regulatory and external certification (ISO) requirements
Revise laboratory SOPs as needed to stay current with scientific developments, customer and business needs
Conduct technician testing for both in-process and final product approvals
Assists with sending samples to appropriate outside labs for on-time testing
Attend RCAs specific to the business unit for which the quality control analyst is in charge
Provide technical and professional assistance to operations management as needed to support the plants quality goals
Assists with calibrations and instrument repair as assigned
Performs calibrations and instrument repair as assigned
Assist with the training of hourly and salary employees
Build control charts for summarizing data collection and testing performance
Team-oriented and well-organized with the ability to work with a variety of people at all levels within the organization


Qualified candidates will have:

Outstanding analytical technique demonstrated in laboratory.
Demonstrated MSA skills as well as LSS participation
Holds or at least pursuing an LSS certification
Excellent prioritization skills and ability to delegate testing
Ability to train others and assess testing proficiency
Bachelor of Science in Biology, Microbiology or a technical field and significant laboratory experience in food manufacturing
Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and SAP
